Video: Machu Picchu and Aguas Calientes

April 19th, 2009 | Thomas | South America, Travel, Video | 2 Comments »

This video shows Machu Picchu, sacred centre of the Inca Empire in Peru and one of the new natural wonders of the world. It begins on the train between Cusco and Aguas Calientes, arriving at the main street in Aguas Calientes, procedes to Machu Picchu, and shows some of the views from high above Machu Picchu perched on top of Huayna Picchu. Finally, the video finishes with a mysterious creature I spotted whilst lost amongst some ruins. It hopped like a rabbit, but looked more like a cross between a rabbit and a squirrel.

I made a tour in Peru last year and I was delighted with its food, its people and all the tourist attraction it has. I could know so many places like Cusco, Puno, Lima, Trujillo and Arequipa, that have history and important archaeological sites. For me the best was Machu Picchu and I hope to visit again. Also, I wanto to say that this trip it wouldn´t be the same without Libertador Hotels, one of the most important hotel chains in Peru. If you have the opportunity to travel to this amazing country you must stay in this hotel.

Your mysterious animal is a vizcacha. I would say it’s a cross between a rabbit, a squirrel, and a kangaroo 🙂
