Run by Hare Krishna devotees, and known by its other name Nueva Vrindavan, the Eco Yoga Park proved to be a wonderful break after nearly 8 months on the road. At only US $12 a day for food accommodation and yoga and meditation classes, it was also great value.

As the heart of the Inca empire, the magnetic city of Cuzco heads the list of many a traveler’s itinerary and with a very good reason. The city’s unique combination of colonial and religious splendours combined with hundreds of activities offered to travellers makes it a fantastic place to hang around for quite a while. I spent 1.5 months there myself.

The city’s biggest drawcard of all is being the set-off point to the ‘lost’ city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, the Inca citadel perched high on an isolated mountaintop.

In Cuzco you can spend your days in colourful markets, doing yoga, meditation, massage, trying out all kinds of amazing restaurants, water rafting trips, museums, excursions to Inca sites, bars, parties, and many other things.

I love the city and had an amazing time there.

Tina and I have just returned from the meditation retreat organised by the Wat Suan Dok Monk Chat program in Chiang Mai. The retreat groups depart from Wat Suan Dok at about 2pm every Tuesday.

You can listen to the ‘Meditation Podcast’ Tina and I made on the retreat by clicking the play button above.

This meditation retreat is intended purely as an introduction to various Buddhist meditation techniques, as well as an overview of Thai Buddhism and culture – and it’s facilitated by the Chiang Mai Campus of the MCU Buddhist University.

Having just returned from our retreat, we’d both thoroughly recommend you do the course during your time in Chiang Mai. Although we have spent several years in Thailand, we still found that we learned a lot from the informative presentations and discussions we had with the monks. Plus we’re feeling pretty chilled out and mindful which is always a bonus.

Further information

Normally the meditation retreat lasts approximately 24 hours – from Tuesday lunch time until Wednesday lunch time, although during the last week of every month the course lasts from Tuesday lunch time until Thursday lunch time.

Full details of the Meditation retreat workshop program are available from the Monk Chat Meditation Retreat website.

The Meditation Retreat program is funded purely through donations, and as a guideline we suggest you leave a donation of somewhere between 200THB and 1000THB per day that you attend the program – depending of course on how wealthy/generous you are.

Theta healing is a meditation technique developed by Vianna Stibal. It directly addresses the subconscious mind to change the subconscious “bugs and blocks” in ourselves and is a way to make changes in your life. Using the theta-brainwave it can change old beliefs and as we all know – success in every aspect of your life is determined by your beliefs.

My old girlfriend Signe is a well-known theta healer and she says that ‘instead of walking around wanting something, you should teach yourself what it feels like to have it – and attract it into your life. With theta healing you can teach your body new feelings in seconds that might have taken you a life time to learn’.

This healing technique is also known to have helped people:

"¢	Heal emotional trauma and personal relationships
"¢	Self help for financial and health issues
"¢	Personal growth and spirituality

The courses take place in Chiang Mai (in the Holiday Garden Resort) on December 8th – December 10th (Basic course – DNA2) and December 15th – December 17th (DNA2 advanced) 2007.

I will participate in the course myself and I am very excited about it because in my experience Signe is a very good healer and I think the course will be very beneficial for me.

For more information please go to Signe’s website: www.SigneFjord.com
