Dear Christina,

Thank you very much for your comment. I am happy that you have written about a positive experience with colonic irrigation. I have had friends doing colonic irrigation both abroad and at the Chiang Mai Ayurvedic Center and they have all been happy with the procedure.

This blog is not meant as a for or against a certain type of activity - merely it is written as a personal experience to provide other people with information about activities and places.

My experience with the Center has been really good in terms of service -the staff are very kind (as you mention yourself). This blog, however, is not an advertisment for the Center or a way to discourage people from going.

It is information about colonic irrigation from a personal experience (mine) and I am grateful that you have added a positive experience. This adds to the diversity of the blog and makes it more interesting for people to read.

I am looking forward to read your contributions to our future blogs as well.

Hsve a lovely weekend and best wishes,
Tina Noga

Hi There,

I just want to add my experience as well at the Ayurvedic Center in Chiang Mai. I too went for a course of colonics having heard so much about the benefits of intestinal cleansing.

I had looked around Chiang Mai and found a couple of other places that offer colonics but they were all noticably more expensive than the Ayurvedic Center. I went there to check out the cleanliness first, to make sure it looked sterile and professional. To my pleasant surprise I instantly felt comfortable and cared for by the sweet staff. The rooms are modest but all clean and well presented and the colonic room was certainly sterile and well equipped.

I paid for a course of 5 colonics as it was explained to me that having a single one will only remove fresh matter in the colon and not get much of the hard fecal matter out. Once in the room I felt completely at ease and not embarrassed at all as the girls made me feel very relaxed (I guess they do this day in and day out so its nothing embarrassing fr them!)

The actual colonic was not painful at all, and the staff kept a very attentive eye on me to make sure that I was comfortable throughout the 45 minute treatment.

Quite a lot of matter came out initially and then less so the first time. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th time produced a similar amount, but nothing too spectacular. However, the 5th time all sorts of dark black 'crusty' looking stuff came out, it was quite incredible to watch. I felt a bit of a head ache come on as this happen but this suddenly lifted and left me feeling light and buoyant.

Its been several weeks since I did this and I can honestly say that I can't remember feeling so light, alive and clearheaded. I am sold on colonics now and shall be repeating such a program at least once every year from now on.

The staff at the Ayurvedic Center are adorable and very attentive. it may not look much from the outside, but the staff and the quality of the treatments (including the amazing 2 person Ayurvedic massages) are first class.

I don't hesitate to recommend the Ayurvedic Detox Center to anyone...try it for yourself and see!!

I just want to share the opposite experience about colonic irrigation in The Chiangmai Ayurvedic Center. Before coming to the Ayurvedic Center,I suffered of chronic bowelsyndrome. After sveral colonic irrigation, I felt extreamly tired, but soon after noticed quite an increase of energy and lightness of my body and mind. And also,my stool is healthy and regular.

The most thing that I like in this center are staffs, all of they are kinly, politly and lovely. The staff in this place make me feel at home. So, I will continue with colonic irrigation when I come back to Chiangmai or where ever I find such as this place.
